I finally completed my first non-pony-cape project! Yay! It wasn't terribly hard, just 72 rows of knitting. I actually completed 75 rows because I can't count I was watching Lost re-runs and became distracted by the hotness that is Sawyer. Oh, Sawyer I miss you so...
Ahem. So, here it is - my first project. A cotton dish rag.
I got to work with 100% cotton yarn and LOVED it! It has a great texture. I think I'll invest in some wood or bamboo needles this weekend. Now that I'm on the "I've just completed something" high I feel the need to invest in my new hobby.
What should I do next? Another dish rag? A bookmark? A *gasp* scarf? What do you think?

I think you should keep going and make a scarf! It's too cute to just end there. :)
no kidding, move on to the big ticket items, scarves. ;)
it looks great!
Go for the scarf! Live on the edge! The only thing I have knitted is a scarf. Took me days just to figure out how to cast on the darn needle. It sat like that...a single tube of stitches...for weeks. I was ready to call my creation a "tampon warmer", and leave it at that! But alas, I made the scarf.
Go for it. Or make a tampon warmer.
I think a bookmark next! But anything would be cool - your creation is awesome!
All of a sudden I'm dying to learn to knit. Maybe I'll teach myself over the Christmas break.
My grandmother in law knits those and I gotta say, they wash the hell out of floors and stuff.
Well, I'm impressed. I can't knit to save my life. Well, I suppose if it would really SAVE my life, I would figure it out, but I'm very terrible at it. This looks great. I'm with everyone else: go for a scarf next. Happy Knitting!
And Happy Thanksgiving!
