The Cat Is At Home. Alive.

Just in case anyone was worried about my homicidal feelings towards a particularly old, weak bladdered, vindictive feline. He's fine, he likes his home better than Zephyr does and he doesn't seem too concerned about his close brush with death and/or homelessness.

I have now set up a "cat run" for them to get out of their cat-habitat and stretch their legs. Louis actually prefers sitting on his ass (like his mama) but Zephyr takes every opportunity to spazz out and act like she's fucking Braveheart. FREEDOM!

Here is a picture of their daytime home. I am assured that it is not considered animal cruelty to keep them in there while I am at work. While I am at home they are free to roam about the country kitchen. While I watch them. Like a hawk.

Also - here is a picture of my (almost) pristine carpet. So lovely, so soft, so should have done this years ago...

Cats mostly sleep all day, anyway. They can do that in their cages just as easily as anywhere else in the house.

And the rub of selling a house is that you finally do all the things you've been meanint to, but you don't get to enjoy the benefit of them.

My cat would LOVE that area! He's old and mostly sleeps, but he loves to be up high.

Cats, while being cute, lovely and ridiculousy needy for attention, can also be little stink bombs of horror. And? Sometimes we gotta do, what we gotta do.

The floor looks great, here's to keeping them that way. *coffee mug lifted*

I'm a meanie. I'd put a litter box and food bowl in there and just never let them out.

I am SO not a cat person!
