TV Talk

I’m going through a phase right now. I’m obsessed with home-buying shows. I’m glued to the tv whenever House Hunters or Property Virgins comes on. I am an addict.

I suppose it stems from the fact that I’m house shopping myself. I usually tend to drift towards shows that are paralleling my own life. When I was pregnant I couldn’t get enough of “A Baby’s Story” on TLC. God, it was scary. Scary, but fascinating. When I was selling my house I watched “Designed To Sell” over and over and over. Thank goodness it’s been on so long – there were tons of episodes!

In addition to house hunting shows I have become addicted to the “crime procedural” show. Specifically, NCIS and NCIS LA. When I was in the Navy I shied away from NCIS. Not sure why, maybe I just didn’t want to be reminded of work when I was at home. Now, I have changed my tune. I try and catch both shows on Tuesday night. Have you seen NCIS LA? If not, you should. Especially because of this guy:

And to a lesser extent, this guy:

Yeah. Totally worth watching.

Heck, I even like the psychologist dude (the guy in the middle).

So far, I’m pleased. Now I have something to watch every night of the week. I think I might need to go to Target and pick up a life. Sounds like I could use one.

shit, TARGET is where we get a life? All this time I've been searching for it at Walmart.

Yeah, Walmart is always sold out...

I avoid Walmart because I know I'd end up on that "people of Walmart" website, or whatever it's called.

I'm currently watching Top Chef reruns in anticipation or the restaurant wars episode tonight and DVR'd a rerun of Criminal Minds because I love that show.

Can I catch a ride to Target?

Let's all get a carpool to Target. I'm in desperate need of a life outside of Food Network and HGTV. The shows I watch on TV are more appropriate for a 70 year old widow than a 29 year old single mom.

I actually watched the Home Shopping Network a little last night. It's time for an intervention.

I met Chris O'Donnell once. It was almost 20 years ago (how is that possible?). I was at the races in Saratoga, NY with then-boyfriend, and Chris O'D was there. Boyfriend and Chris went to college together, but I had NO idea who he was. The brush with fame was completely lost on me. All I remember was that he was very pleasant and very short.

whoa who whoa...Chris O'Donnell is on NCIS LA? Where in the hell have I been?
Gotta go DVR that series...I've had the biggest crush on him forever...I think b/c he looks like my high school boyfriend :)

I love NCIS and have been getting into NCIS:LA - it's no NCIS, but it's nice to look at! :)

hey girl! good to hear from you. hope all is well with you & your precious daughter. also, do NOT let her ever ever ever see the Bella Sara horse cards that my daughter is obsessed with--although, unfortunately, it does seem to be a natural progression from My Little Pony...

Man, the pressure to buy just the right house and not overpay is immense--I'd be getting all the tips I could pick up too.

You ever go in Target on a Sunday afternoon? At ours that's where every family in the county with a 0-2 year old goes for their weekend outing, including mine. We never, never escape that place for less than a hundred bucks.

I am always looking for a decent (doesn't even have to be good) show to whisk me away. It's always good if there are muscular men with tight shirts on too!

I am obsessed with House Hunters right now as well. We are relocating from Alabama to Houston next month. We are under contract on a house, which I will not see in person until we move there....ahhhh!!! I am amazed at how the markets vary so drastically.
